Born and bred in Singapore, I've lived a nomadic life for the past 13 years. My life and career has centered around travel, hospitality and adventure. I've worked in hotels, lived in 4 continents and travelled 40+ countries.
In 2016, I challenged myself to embark on a solo trip to Africa, wanting to explore for myself the continent that has long been misunderstood, overlooked and constantly perceived negatively. Over 8 months, I covered 5 African countries (Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania). I had numerous amazing encounters with nature and wildlife; I met many people - locals, travellers, expats who became friends. Contrary to misconceptions, Africa is safe and relatively easy to travel. It is a unique continent unlike any other and my trip has fuelled a passion and mission to dispel any negative perceptions people have of Africa.
For me, the biggest takeaway from travelling is meeting and interacting with people through conversation, food, culture and laughs! Whether its trading recipes with the street food seller or learning about wildlife behaviour from a park ranger, it is always the people who make an experience vivid and memorable. Hence, I hope to be able to create and share memorable experiences for fellow explorers whom I embark on adventures in Africa with!
