Highlights

The canyons of Utah has always fascinated me with its amazing red rocks, surrealistic desert landscapes, and stunning rock formations. This road trip will take us through this fascinating region of canyons as we meander through the state of Utah.

The best part of this tour is that we will be in these picturesque canyons during the shoulder season in late autumn, where there will be fewer crowds and no congestion. High season will see thousands of people converging on the photographic spots taking up the best spots. Travel will also be more pleasant in cooler weather as we will miss the scorching heat of the sun that is typical of the high season.

This recce tour can take a maximum of 5 persons. It will be confirmed to proceed with four persons when payment of their deposits have been received. It is a budget tour with basic accommodations and breakfast. The tour will maximise our time in sightseeing with some walks and easy hikes in the canyons to get to scenic points. This will be like a photographer's dream tour to capture all the lights, shadows, and amazing hues that goes with these brilliant rock formations.

We will travel in a 7-seater SUV or mini-van and cover a circular route starting and ending at Grand Junction, Colorado. So you almost never travel on the same route twice, and every single day is an adventure on the road.

Arches National Park

A landscape of contrasting colors, land forms and textures unlike any other in the world. The park has over 2,000 natural stone arches, in addition to hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive fins and giant balanced rocks. This red-rock wonderland will amaze you with its formations, refresh you with its trails, and inspire you with its sunsets.

Canyonlands National Park

A wilderness of countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. Rivers divide the park into four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. These areas share a primitive desert atmosphere, but each offers different opportunities for sightseeing and adventure.

Monument Valley

Catch these amazing sandstone buttes at sunrise as we drive along the route through this Navajo Reservation.

Zion National Park

Sometimes described as heaven on earth, Utah's spellbinding red-rock desert and high-altitude forests are just a few of the wonders to discover in this national park created by wind, water, and snow. The Park revolves around the Zion Canyon - about 24 kilometres long and almost a kilometre deep in places. Much of the canyon includes the surrounding terrain - landscapes that range from desert to the high-altitude forests sprawling across the plateaus above the canyon.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park is acknowledged as having the most stunning sandstone scenery in the American West and is especially famous for its pink and orange spires and hoodoos.

Reviews

  • Definitely a worthwhile experience doing this walk and glad was done at night though was quite hard trying to keep awake at certain times. Pace was good and Daniel was very helpful and encouraging. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to do the trail with this group!

  • The camaraderie and mood was unbelievable and softened the toughness of the hike. Enjoyed it so much that I am looking to do it again, albeit only by night.

  • Felt like a Natgeo hiking trip. Get to see plenty of wildlife, northern light, beautiful lakes & breath-taking hikes (crypt lake trail is a big bonus). Just bask in mother's nature arms. To be honest, felt more like a road trip with great friends, and the itinerary is pretty flexible. Thanks Daniel ... Read more Felt like a Natgeo hiking trip.
