Highlights

Is there anywhere that offers adventures and beauties of Maldives but cost a fraction of Maldives?  Togean Island is my answer and I believe it offers much more.  People describe Togean Islands as “Is hard to reach place and very hard to leave place”

Besides its beautiful beaches and coral reefs, Togean Islands is also home to sea Gypsies.  Sea gypsies are citizen less and well known for their amazing ability to swim deep and long in water without equipment.  We will be visiting this amazing people at Palau Papan and possibly we may have a chance to buy some exotic catches from them.  After which we will be snorkelling in California Hotel Atoll and swimming with stingless Jelly Fish.

Stingless Jelly Fish Mariona Lake (one of the 4 places in the world)

There are only four places in the world where we can swim with Stingless Jelly Fish.  We will proceed back to Karina beach for snorkelling and Tapi Island for sunset.

The next day we will trek Una Una Island, an active Volcano Colo 500 metres in height, it sits right on the equator line.  Its last eruption in 1983 fortunately has no casualties as its volcanic activities was visible 6 months before it erupted.

There is so much that can be done at Togean Island I have decided to stay on 1 more day.  As such I would like to keep the options open to divers and non-divers.  After all Togean Islands is a divers’ haven.  But I don’t think I will be diving so I intend to visit Mangrove Swamps, waterfall at Wakai or simply relaxing by our resort.  If we are lucky we might be able to swim with glowing plankton by our resort.  If we want, we can rent a boat and spend some nightfall in a deserted island.  For divers our resort will be able to provide equipment and guide.
