“I am an outdoor person who love to meet new friends while exploring off-beaten-track places. Travelling is not just about destination, but about the experiences of the journey towards the destination.”
Endau Rompin (Selai) is not an experience for the faint-hearted. It is ideal for the adventurous seeker who is seeking to rough it out.
Endau Rompin is the newest lowland tropical rain forest located in Johor, Malaysia. The area is more than 248 million years old, twice as old as Taman Negara, where exotic flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world.

Endau Rompin home to elephants, tigers, deer, tapir, leopards, sun bears, wild boar and numerous species of birds. Endau Rompin was once a rhino country which was the main reason for the park’s creation, sadly the rhino is believed to have extinct.

There are 20 waterfalls in Endau Rompin and we will attempt to visit the 3 main waterfalls, Takah Tinggi, Takah Berangin and Takah Pandan. Depending on the group speed we will have to adjust our plan accordingly. The trekking is expected to take 7 to 8 hours, as such to maximize our time in the national park, we have to meet early at Woodlands check point and reach Bekok by 9:30am, then continue our journey to the park on 4WD.
Takah Tinggi
Takah Pandan
It is possible to swim at Berangin waterfall.
Upon return from the trek, we will reward ourselves with BBQ dinner, after the dinner we will do a night walk to explore the rainforest of Endau Rompin in the dark.
The next day after breakfast lets’ tube down the river.
We will check out in the afternoon and head back to Singapore.
All this will cost us $249.75, we need 12 people to make this happen. With 24 and more the price will drop to $226.10. Everyone will pay $249.75 and we will refund the balance on the day we meet.
As we need to meet early, for those that stay a distance away from Woodlands checkpoint and without easy access to MRT, I suggest to take causeway link shuttle from Newton or Queens Street, check out their schedules https://causewaylink.com.my/airport-shuttle-bus

Well organised and very nice group to travel with.
Feedback: - I would not have staid in Nairobi the day we landed and would have gone straight to Amboseli and sleep in Amboseli directly the first night. - Same on the way back, Saturday was a bit wasted in Nairobi while I would have instead staid one more night in Masai Mara. - Mara Chui at Masai...
