Highlights

Iceland!
We've heard so much about it, dreamt about it, always wanted to go there, and I thought to myself - this is THE year!

Yes, I put up a tour many months ago hoping that I could bring some of the many people I heard saying that they would like to go there.
I didn't get enough responses so this is my LAST CHANCE attempt to see if I could bring a group there to see this magnificent place!
And to do this tour in the summer months is pretty special!

Ok, so here's the deal:
9 Days
Ring Road - get to see ALL of Iceland
All Accommodations for 8 nights - Budget type: guesthouses, country hotels, farmhouses with shared facilities.
All Breakfasts
Rental Van with Wifi hotspot - I'll be driving the group
Sightsee and visit ALL major attractions and scenic sites around Iceland

Tour Cost

The tour costs is S$2,631 per person up till 26 Jan 2019 for a group of 7 persons.

This tour needs exactly 7 persons to proceed.
Payment of a deposit to secure your place on this tour is S$1,000 by 26 Jan 2019.
If we don't get exactly 7 persons by 26 Jan 2019, the S$1,000 will be refunded to you and I will post this tour again for next year.
This is a last minute deal I managed to put together.
Let's keep our fingers crossed (or get down on our knees.)

What's so special about Iceland in the summer months

Land of the Midnight Sun
This tour in June is close to the summer solstice (June 21) so you get to experience 24 hours of daylight  - which is how Land of the Midnight Sun came about.
Your chance to experience the midnight sun!
(Sorry, no Northern Lights!)

Summer festivals, Longer hours of sightseeing
Yes, Iceland has been associated with catching the Northern Lights and many will visit it in winter for that purpose - September to March.
Visting Iceland in summer is a big difference from winter: You get to see ALL of Iceland - more sights and scenic places are readily accessible especially in the North. (In winter, road cloures and rough driving conditions makes travelling more unpredictable and dangerous, so the Ring Road is not something you will do).

During summer, festivals and celebartions are common, and the longer hours of daylight means more hours of sightseeing, and people generally seem happier all round - due to more hours of sunlight (?) =;)

Flight Booking
If we get to do this, our finger crossing worked! (or prayers, for those of you who have gotten down on your knees)
*Please DO NOT book your air tickers until I give you the green light.
The airline to book your air tickets is Finnair.
Currently, the airfare is around SGD 1,200

You need to book the flight that departs Singapore on the night of Thursday 6 June and arriving Reykjavik (KEF) on 7 June afternoon/evening.
Your departure from Reykjavik (KEF) is on Saturday 15 June morning, arriving in Singapore on Sunday 16 June afternoon.
*Again - please DO NOT book your air tickers until I give you the green light.

At the end of the tour,. I think we got more than what we bargained for.. perhaps that is the beauty of small private tour group. We can have options. The amazing Bolivia salt flat Uyuni with so many untold secrets.. Felt truly blessed to have visited this place. Oh.. we missed out the Inca hiking activity when we booked the tour and realised it only at subsequent tour briefing. It was tough, but feel great overcoming the challenge with 8 hours hike. We have fun together as a group tackling this task. We squeezed a lot more much waking time. During the tour. Evident in total of more than 17 flights just to shorten travelling time. We have food (both good & bad), interesting experience, and great fun as a group of six adventurers and one Daniel Goh. Especially with our exchange rate. I think most of us will find it very hard to have a similar holiday trip for a long time to come. It is really one of its kind with good memories to last for a pretty long time. As least for me, I feel very blessed to have my bucket list with South America fulfilled in 2019 in such fun, such fashion and such great companions started off as total strangers and we can be crazy as children in play. • Definitely a worthwhile experience doing this walk and glad was done at night though was quite hard trying to keep awake at certain times. Pace was good and Daniel was very helpful and encouraging. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to do the trail with this group!

  • The camaraderie and mood was unbelievable and softened the toughness of the hike. Enjoyed it so much that I am looking to do it again, albeit only by night.

  • Felt like a Natgeo hiking trip. Get to see plenty of wildlife, northern light, beautiful lakes & breath-taking hikes (crypt lake trail is a big bonus). Just bask in mother's nature arms.
