“I love to do hiking and go backpacking, exploring the world.
As I love researching, I have a blog for DIY users (www.yonderingsoles.com). I too run a travel agency called Little Monsters Travel (www.littlermonsterstravel.com)”
Looking to introduce hiking in Nepal for anyone who has been wanting to try, struggle to find people to go with or are afraid of trying it yourself!
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most famous treks in Nepal. It is highly popular because of its convenience and easy accessibility.
It is a doable trek of moderate difficulty for relative beginners yet with amazing scenery. The trail goes alongside terraced rice paddies, lush rhododendron forests and high altitude landscapes with the Annapurna Range in view most of the time. It is also a teahouse/lodge trek so there is no camping involved.
One will get a chance to see the majestic peaks of Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), Machapuchhre (6993 m) and Hiunchuli (6441 m). The view at base camp is one of the most memorable and amazing in all my trips.
The proposed itinerary is altered slightly to spend more time in the mountains so we can go at a relaxing and slower pace at more important points. It also means that sightseeing in Kathmandu and Pokhara is not on the agenda. If you wish for sightseeing in Pokhara, do extend the days.
The reason for the dates is because it is better to have a day of rest when you reach Singapore and also to make use of the Good Friday Holiday.
Training will be organized and briefings to prepare you on packing, medicine etc will be conducted. Please note that although it is a doable trek for beginners, it is still a challenging and tiring trip. Participants are expected to be able to walk for around 6-8 hours daily with a gradient.
Having said that, the first 3 days are the harder days because we would need to walk a longer distance to get out of the forest areas to get to the good view!
Although I am looking to bring beginners, participants must be open-minded and be willing to prepare for the trip! I might filter based on fitness/experience also.
A pre-trip briefing will be set up, along with training sessions.
