The trek in the Pamir-Alay region is also commonly known as Asian Patagonia. The spectacular landscapes, alpine meadows, amazing nature and beauty that this region offers largely resembles that of the South American Patagonia. With the endless valleys and high ragged peaks, and white snowy landscapes with glaciers surrounding the peaks of Sabakh (5823m) and Aksu (5365m), it is no wonder why so many hikers are attracted to the majestic beauty that this trek offers. Coupled with the hospitality of the locals whom you will be meeting on this trek, immerse yourself in the local culture and food, it will definitely be a trip you will never forget. Best season to attempt this trek is between June to August. Easy to Moderate Level trekking difficulty.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrival in Osh International Airport. Transfer to Uzgarysh village. Accommodation in guest house.
Time required: Approximately 7 hours
Distance covered: 290km
Altitude: 1800m (+800m)

Day 2:
Wake up early morning for breakfast. Trek starts from the Laily-Mazar river valley to its confluence with the Uryam river. Camping at Camp 1.
Time required: Approximately 6 to 8 hours
Distance covered: 10 km
Maximum altitude: 2100m (+300m)

Day 3:
Passage from the confluence of the Laily-Mazar and Uryam rivers to the Uryam river valley. Camping at Camp 2.
Time required: Approximately 7 to 9 hours
Distance covered: 8 km
Altitude: 3000m (+900m)

Day 4:
Rest day and radial trek to the upper reaches of the Uryam river. Camping at Camp 2.
Time required: Approximately 3 to 5 hours
Distance covered: 4 to 7 km
Altitude: 3000m (+ 400m, – 400m)

Day 5:
Passage across Uryam Pass (3760m) to the Ak-Mechet river valley, to the confluence of two rivers – the Ak-Suu and the Kara-Suu. Camping at Camp 3.
Time required: Approximately 6 to 8 hours
Distance covered: 8 km
Altitude: 2860m (+ 750m, – 900m)

Day 6:
Rest day and radial trekking to the foot of Aksu peak (5355m). Trek to the glacier that lies under the tops of several peaks – Blok, Aksu, Admiralteyets, Petrogradets and Iskander. Lunch at Aksu river. Back to Camp 3 for camping for the night.
Time required: Approximately 4 to 5 hours
Distance covered: 8 km
Altitude: 3500m (+ 700m, – 700m)

Day 7:
Descent to the Ak-Mechet river and further to Uzgarysh village. Accommodation in guest house.
Time required: Approximately 6 to 8 hours
Distance covered: 14 km
Altitude: 1800m

Day 8:
Transfer from Uzgarysh village to Osh. Accommodation in hotel.
Time required: Approximately 7 hours
Distance covered: 290 km
Altitude: 1000m (-800m)

Day 9:
Transfer from hotel to Osh International Airport. Flight back home.
