October is the whale immigration period. If we are lucky, we will be able to see the immigration. That is one of the highlights from this trip :)

Itinerary

DAY 1: KUPANG – FATUMNASI (B,L,D)
Arrive at Kupang. Breakfast, and we will go to Atambua by car. Along the way, we will make stop by at Sasando house to see the traditional musical instrument, and also Crystal Cave. Lunch break and continue our journey to Fatumnasi (4-5 hours). Stay overnight at homestay at Fatumnasi.

DAY 2: FATUMNASI – KEFAMENANU (B,L,D)
Wake up call for sunrise and followed by the village traditional dance performance. Continue our journey to Kefamenu, stay overnight at Kefamenu.

DAY 3: KEFAMENU – ATAMBUA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, check out. We will travel to Atambua which will take about two hours. Explore Mauhalek Waterfall and enjoy the sunset at Fulan Fehan before heading to our accomodation at Atambua.

DAY 4: ATAMBUA – DILI (B,L,D)
After breakfast, check out from hotel. Registering for crossing border to Timor Leste. Journey to Dili will take about 3.5 hours. Reach Dili, we will stop at the historic late nineteenth-century Portuguese colonial prison, Ai Pelo.

DAY 5: DILI (B,L,D)
Today we will visit a few places such as Tais Traditional Market, the 3rd tallest Jesus statue in the world, Cristo Rei, and the Tasitolu, the 6 m high statue of the late Paus Yohanes Paulus 2. We will end the day by spending time at the white sandy beach at Areia Branca Beach for sunset. Back to hotel in Dili.

DAY 6: DILI – ATAÚRO (B,L,D)
Check out. We will go to the harbour and take the boat crossing to Atauro Island around 7 am. Upon arrival, we will drop our stuff at the lodge. We can do fun dive in the morning for certified divers or Discovery Scuba in the morning for those non-certified (excluded). Then we can either explore the eastern part of the island for snorkeling or visit the local art and craft by the cooperative of women in the village (either one).

DAY 7: ATAÚRO (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we will try out luck to spot the Cetacean – Spotted, Spinner, Bottle-nosed and Rough-toothed Dolphins, Pilot and Melon-headed Whale. Afternoon will befree programme to explore the island on your own.

DAY 8: ATAÚRO – DILI (B)
Breakfast, check out and drop off at Dili Airport.
